We’re continuing our Tiger Teacher Spotlight series with someone who brings a lot of heart to her classroom—Mrs. Watts, our 1st grade teacher!
With 9 years of teaching experience and 16 years working in education, Mrs. Watts says her ultimate inspiration for becoming a teacher was simple: “I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children.” ❤️
Her classroom is happy, respectful, and organized, and what she hopes every student gains from their year with her is one very important thing: confidence.
Outside of school, Mrs. Watts loves being outdoors, walking, playing sports, cooking, quoting movies, and spending time with her husband and family. And when it comes to snacks? She's a fan of dark chocolate-covered nuts! 🍫
Her advice for students this year: “Look, listen and learn.” 📚
We’re grateful to have Mrs. Watts helping our little Tigers learn, grow, and believe in themselves! 🐯💙💛

Parents of Bus Riders: We have made a few additional adjustments to our bus schedules. Please review the updated bus schedule to check your child’s current pick-up and drop-off times. The updated times are effective today, Wednesday, August 19. https://aptg.co/mrHnn2

We wanted to provide a quick update regarding the odor reported this morning.
Southwest Gas has completed its testing and determined that there is not a natural gas leak. The contractors who have been working in the area are continuing to investigate the source of the odor.
Our K–2 students have returned to their classrooms and are continuing their school day as usual.
This morning, we noticed an odor in our K–2 classrooms that may be associated with natural gas. Out of an abundance of caution, we temporarily moved our K–2 students to other areas of campus while the situation is being investigated.
Our Maintenance Department is checking the area, and Southwest Gas is on its way to inspect the building. Since contractors were working in the area yesterday, they are also returning to inspect their work.
Our students are safe and supervised, and we are taking these precautionary steps to ensure a safe environment for everyone. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide an update if any further action is needed.
We wanted to keep you informed and appreciate your understanding.
Thank you,
St. David Unified School District

Our Transportation Department has made several updates to improve our bus schedules. Some pick-up and drop-off times have changed, in some cases by several minutes.
Please review the updated bus route and check your child’s pick-up and drop-off times. If your child’s times have changed, please make note of the new times.
The updated schedules will go into effect Monday, August 17.
