Student transportation changes (such as riding a different bus or getting off at a different stop) require a written note from a parent or guardian. We cannot accept verbal permission given to the bus driver by the student, including phone calls from students to parents or handing the phone to the driver. Last week, our middle school and high school English students had the rare and powerful opportunity to attend an unforgettable event, where they heard directly from Holocaust survivor Helga Melmed. Students were also invited to a special meet-and-greet prior to the presentation.

Listening to her story of survival, strength, and rebuilding after Auschwitz was a profound learning experience—one that brought history to life and reinforced the importance of remembrance, empathy, and the responsibility to ensure that “Never Again” is more than words, but a lasting commitment.

We are grateful our students were able to be part of such a meaningful evening of learning and reflection.
