FBLA Region 1 Conference
FBLA Region 1 Conference Medal Winners

FBLA Region 1 Conference was January 26 at Eastern Arizona College. This was a chance for our students to practice their competitive events before the state competition. We had a great group of eighteen students who represented our school, and they enjoyed workshops, lunch, a "board game extravaganza", "leadership circus", "Battle of the Chapters", and more. Congratulations to the following for placing in their competitive events:

  • Brenten Freestone (third place in Accounting I and first place in Business Calculations)
  • Conner Curtis (second place in Job Interview)
  • Brayton Trejo (first place in UX Design)
  • Lacy Freestone (third place in Organizational Leadership)
  • Jeffery Savage (third place in Insurance Risk and Management)
  • Meilee Curtis (first place in Digital Video Production)

A big thanks to our chapter advisor, Mr. Barker, for his time in encouraging and assisting these future business leaders.

Campus Improvements - October 2022 through June 2023

Our campus will soon receive some much-needed work. These improvements include the replacement of most of our roofs, painting the exterior, and general weatherization of our buildings. With this will come many contractors that will be on campus starting October 14, 2022 through June 30, 2023. The painters expect to work on evenings and weekends during this time. We do not know the roofers’ project hours as of yet.

There will be projects where no one can be on campus due to the nature of the materials used. For the safety of everyone, we ask that you refrain from spending extra time on campus outside of our regular business hours. If this presents an issue on a particular day, please contact the office. We also ask that students not hang around after 3:30 p.m. except for supervised student activities in designated areas. We ask if you know someone who comes to the campus on the weekends bringing their kids to the playgrounds or sports fields, to let them know the campus is closed. If they are here, we may ask them to leave. We will post signs.

If there are any concerns about the project, please contact Maintenance Director Zac Harrison.
