Our school is proud to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of two talented student artists, Samson Riesgo and Jennifer Tahe, who were recognized in the District 6 Congressional Art Competition.
Samson Riesgo earned 3rd Place in the competition for his artwork, “Tribute to FFA in Arizona.” His piece will be displayed for one year in the Tucson office as part of this prestigious program sponsored annually by members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition recognizes and encourages artistic talent among high school students across the nation.
Samson’s achievement reflects the creativity, dedication, and hard work he brought to the artistic process. His commitment and talent earned him district-wide recognition in this prestigious competition.
Jennifer Tahe also received special recognition, earning an Honorable Mention for her painting titled “Friends.” Her accomplishment highlights the creativity and artistic skill represented by students at our school.
It is a rare honor for two students from the same school to receive awards in this highly competitive event, making this achievement even more significant for our school community.
We would also like to recognize our dedicated art teacher, Mrs. Score, for encouraging students to participate in the competition, supporting them throughout the process, and personally delivering their submissions to the Tucson office. Her commitment to student success and the arts helped make these accomplishments possible.
Congratulations to Samson, Jennifer, and Mrs. Score on this incredible achievement and for representing St. David with creativity, dedication, and excellence.
