Meet Our Governing Board
The St. David Unified School’s Governing Board is made up of five elected community members. They generously volunteer their time and talents to help the district deliver the best possible educational opportunities to our students. Their duties include helping the superintendent and district administrators set policy, hire and retain quality staff, and to encourage parent involvement in the educational process.

Please take a moment to review the board approved proposed budget for FY 2021–2022 as prescribed by A.R.S. 15-905 (A)(2). You can also view the proposed budget by visiting the Arizona Department of Education website.

About Nelson Daley
Nelson Daley was elected to the St. David school board in 2006. He has served at the state level with the Arizona School Board Association Legislative Committee since 2008. He has served as local board president for many years and was recognized for excellence in boardsmanship for the "All Arizona Board" in 2018.
Nelson is a native of Arizona and was raised in the Gila Valley. He moved to St. David in 1995 and married Ester Mayberry. Together they have six children who have or are currently attending St. David schools.
Nelson's business endeavors involve restaurants, farming, aviation, land development, and construction.

About Jay Davis
Jay and his family have lived in Saint David for over 10 years and have enjoyed attending Saint David Schools. Jay is an engineer and enjoys spending time with his family while serving in church and community.
Wendy Gooding

About Wendy Gooding
Wendy is a fourth generation St. David graduate with a bachelors degree in nursing. Three of her four children have graduated from St. David with one to follow. Her interests include traveling, spending time outdoors gardening and working on various landscaping projects, hiking and running, and listening to a variety of podcasts. She has enjoyed supporting her children and their teammates over the years in football, volleyball, basketball, softball, and baseball. Through her service on the school board, she intends to help provide solutions to concerns while maintaining and preserving the special heritage that St. David was built upon.
